Reception places: 2026/2027
Children start Reception class (full-time school) in September of the academic year in which they turn 5. Parents may apply by completing an online form using the link above. The deadline for submission is detailed on the Kirklees website. Applications received after this date are considered late. To avoid disappointment please ensure you complete the online application by the closing date. Placement notification emails will be sent out by the Local Authority in April.
Should you decide to decline your allocated place, please notify School Admissions in writing. This will free up the place for a child on the waiting list.

Year 1 – Year 5 places
For Year 1 to Year 5 enquiries, please contact the school office on 01484 506526 for advice. An In-year Common Application Form (ICAF) will need to be completed (available from the office). Unless the year group your child is in, is full, a place is usually allocated. Parents can still appeal for a place for their child when the year group is full; though the process generally takes several weeks.
Transferring to middle school
Transfer forms for places at middle school are completed online. Please look at the Kirklees website for deadlines and information.
Admission arrangements for pupils with SEND can be found in our admissions policy here

Admissions Policy Consultation
We are currently consulting on our Admissions Policy for 2027-2028. The consultation window is open from Friday 21st November 2025 until the Friday 2nd January 2026.
The changes suggested are as follows:
- References to Special Educational Needs Statements replaced with EHCP
- Updated the policy to clarify how parents can request a place for a child to be admitted outside their normal age group, including summer-born pupils. The process now clearly explains how to make a request, what we consider, and how decisions are made. This does not alter the admissions criteria but provides clearer information for families.
- Updated the oversubscription criterion relating to Looked After and Previously Looked After Children to ensure full alignment with the School Admissions Code.
To access the proposed policy, please click here.
This consultation is open to parents, carers, staff, governors, local authorities, diocese, neighbouring schools, and other stakeholders. If you wish to comment on the proposed changes or the admissions arrangements, please contact the school office on (School Office Email) by the closing date of 5th January 2026
